Sports Consultant Amila Madushanka Passes Away While Attempting to Save a Foreigner in Kitulgala
The outdoor sports community in Kitulgala is mourning the loss of Amila Madushanka, a well-respected sports consultant and facilitator who passed away recently while attempting to save a foreigner in distress during a waterfall abseiling activity at Sandun Ella.
Madushanka was a valued member of the local team that provides facilitation and outdoor-based training (OBT) activities in Kitulgala since 2017. He was a skilled and experienced guide for waterfall abseiling at Sandun Ella, and his dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm were an inspiration to his clients.
